Crime vs. Sin
A “Crime” is an act against the laws of man. A “Sin” is an act against the laws of God.
Either can be synonymous with the other…..or both, which begs the question: why do we only talk about one, but not the other? What are we afraid of?
They are both single syllable words. Both easy to spell and pronounce. So why is one popular, and the other taboo when they both describe acts against lawbreakers?
Do you think that crimes against the laws of God (Sins) are okay, and crimes against the laws of man (Crimes) are not? Why?
Did you happen to notice that (at least in the United States) there is nothing in our Constitution, or in any state or local laws, which conflict with what God’s Ten Commandments state? Conversely, there is nothing in those Ten Commandments which conflict with any national, state, or local laws.
(BTW – you would have to have read both to answer honestly.)
So, back to the question: what are we afraid of?
Why do current national, state, and local journalists spend so much time reporting, writing about, broadcasting about, and discussing “Crime” but will not make a single mention of “Sin”.
Something is wrong here. We have apparently become a “Godless” society where no one has the courage to acknowledge, or talk about, why we have devolved into this “Godless” society.
We certainly didn’t start out as Christians, but our country WAS founded on Christian principles, and was done so to escape a tyrannical, autocratic government like what being attempted today.
Guess what? They say history tends to repeat itself. Look where we are, and where we seem to be going.
We definitely should continue to be concerned about “Crime”, but we must give a lot more thought about “Sin”, and what effect it will have on us if we continue to ignore it?
That is where Faith comes in. Without Faith, we continue down the "rabbit hole" that Satan dug for us.
Without Faith we wouldn't know what awaits each and every one of us on Judgement Day. Most importantly, we would not know how to escape Satan's trap which guarantees eternity in Hell.
