Why Are We Here?

This is a question that has been asked for Millennia. There have been no verifiable answers although there have been all kinds of speculation.

There IS a documented answer. We live it every day, we just don’t “see” it.

We have all heard the announcement "this is a test..." preceded by (and followed by) obnoxious high-pitched sounds. The message ends by saying "...if this had been a real emergency, you would have received instructions..."(or words to that effect).

We have all heard them, repeatedly. They keep us alert and informed. We are indeed fortunate to have access to tests/warnings of this type.

For example, can you imagine how devastating it could be if people weren’t aware that a tornado was heading for them?

Admittedly, there is a tendency, after many such notifications turn out to be just tests, to pay little attention, or ignore them completely.

That might not be the best policy.

Step back a bit, consider this from a different vantage point…..a much higher one. WHAT IF OUR LIFE ITSELF WAS A TEST?

2 Esdras 7:127-128 (NRSV)

He answered and said, "This is the significance of the contest that all who are born on earth shall wage: if they are defeated they shall suffer what you have said, but if they are victorious they shall receive what I have said. (see 1Corinthians 9:25)

That certainly sounds like life is a test! At least you have the right textbook to study from. (they call it the Holy Bible)

Whether or not you believe in God, you “know” that He exists don’t you?

You also heard (whether you believe it or not) that there is an “Afterlife”, and since that is true, you wouldn’t mind spending eternity in Heaven would you?

What if God has set a “minimum standard” for entry into Heaven and the ‘Afterlife’?

HE did…..REALLY!

We are all currently, and for the last several millennia, qualifying (or not) for our entrance exam.
